10 EXPERT BEAUTY TRICKS THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Makeup artists and beauty aficionados have some pretty cool tricks up their sleeves–and up until now, they weren’t sharing. Here are 20 unusual but incredibly handy beauty hacks that are guaranteed to change your life.

1-USE HAIRSPRAY ON YOUR EYEBROWS.

Keep unruly brows in place by spraying a spooly brush with hairspray and then brushing it through brows. Your eyebrows will stay put all day. You might want to opt for an unscented hairspray so that you’re not bothered by the strong fragrance of some hairsprays on the market.

2-USE LEMON JUICE TO LIGHTEN HAIR.

For natural ombré hair or subtle highlights, squeeze two to four lemons into a spray bottle and spritz ends (or whole head of hair). Sit in the sun for an hour. Do this for a few days in a row and watch your hair lighten naturally. Make sure to condition well afterwards as lemon can be drying.

3-HEAT YOUR LASH CURLER WITH A BLOW DRYER.

Warm up your lash curler by blasting it with a blow dryer. The heat will lock curled lashes in place. Just be careful not to heat it up too hot or you could end up with a sore eye or singed lashes. Check the curler by touching it to your wrist before using it.

4-USE BAKING SODA TO WASH YOUR HAIR.

Paint your nails, air-dry for a few minutes and then dunk them into ice-cold water for a minute or two. This will really accelerate drying time

6-USE LOOSE POWDER TO CATCH FALLING SHADOW.

Doing a smoky eye after you’ve applied your concealer and foundation? Pat a generous amount of loose powder under your eyes before applying dark eye shadow (especially if you’re using any loose pigments) to prevent fall out and subsequent smudging. After you’ve finished doing your makeup, simply sweep the loose powder away with your powder brush or fan brush. This is a great way to make sure your smoky eye doesn’t end up looking like a black eye.

7-USE A MAKEUP SPONGE OR A BAND-AID FOR AN EASY EXPERT MANICURE.

You can now do your own super cool manis with the help of band-aids and makeup sponges. For ombré nails, soak a makeup sponge with water and squeeze. Using three or four shades of polish, paint stripes of colour on the sponge. Dab sponge onto aluminum foil to blend colours, then dab onto your nails a few times. Apply a clear top coat. Clean up cuticles with a nail polish remover soaked cotton bud.  For half-moon shapes, paint your nails with a base colour (white or a light shade works well), let dry completely. Stick the rounded edge of a band-aid to any part of your nail and paint over it with a different colour. Wait a few minutes and remove.

8-USE WHITE EYELINER TO MAKE YOUR EYES LOOK BIGGER AND BRIGHTER.

Red-rimmed eyes make us look tired and tired eyes appear smaller. Use a white eyeliner in your waterline for bigger, brighter eyes, or apply white eyeliner along your upper lashline first, followed by a thinner black line.

9-APPLY PERFUME DIRECTLY TO YOUR SKIN TO MAKE THE SCENT LAST LONGER.

x-13

Apply perfume directly to your skin, not your clothes. Fragrances are meant to react to body heat, so spraying clothes will not only potentially stain your garments but will make scents go stale.

10-USE BRIGHTENING EYE DROPS TO TEMPORARILY REDUCE APPEARANCE OF PIMPLES

x-14

Got a serious pimple on a big night? Put a few drops of whitening eye drops (like Visine) onto a cotton ball and hold to the culprit for 60 seconds. This will reduce redness for at least a few hours and will make covering it up a bit easie
